Method of preparation
- Soak sago for 5-6 hours. Then boil potatoes in the cooker.
- Now mix these two and prepare the mixture by adding cumin, salt, green chilli, green coriander and coarsely ground peanuts.
- Now make round tikkis like potato tikkis.
- All preparations for Sabudana Vada have been completed. Now keep these tikkis in deep freezer.
- When guests come home, you just have to take out those tikkis from the fridge, deep fry them and serve them.
- When guests arrive, Sabudana Vada can be ready in just 15 minutes if you have made all the preparations in advance.
- Vada tikkis can be kept in the refrigerator for about two days and in the deep freezer for up to a week.
- In such a situation, if you prepare a lot of tikkis on the very first day of the festival and keep them in the deep freezer, then when the guests arrive, all you have to do is put a pan on the gas, heat the oil and put the pre-prepared tikkis in it and fry them. .
- Hot tikkis will come out of the pan and serve on the breakfast plate in just 10 minutes.

Who doesn’t like hot semolina pudding? This is an evergreen dish, which you can eat in any season. Especially during the festival season, its taste increases a bit.
We will learn the trick of making halwa in ten minutes, but first see its recipe-
Method of preparation
- First of all, fry the semolina on low flame for 15-20 minutes until it turns golden in color.
- Then add ghee to it and fry for 2-3 more minutes.
- Now add four cups of hot water to it and cook.
- When the pudding starts thickening, add sugar to it.
- Stir for 3-4 more minutes. Halwa is ready.
- Now add cardamom powder and finely chopped dry fruits to it.
- Roasting the semolina takes the most time to make halwa. Therefore, if you have roasted semolina in advance, then making halwa when guests arrive is just a matter of a few minutes. But for that some advance preparation will have to be done.
- Bring a packet of one kg semolina, fry it till it turns golden brown, cool it and keep it packed in an air tight container.
- Similarly, finely chop dry fruits, fry them lightly in ghee and store them in the refrigerator. Dry fruits should not be kept outside after cutting.
- Now we know that if guests come suddenly, we have to serve them something sweet immediately.
- So you took some ghee in a pan, added roasted semolina to it and stirred it for just 30 seconds. Then add water and sugar in it and stir for another five minutes and the halwa is ready.
- Now take out the roasted dry fruits from the fridge and arrange them on the halwa.
- The guests sitting outside in the drawing room will be left wondering how this hot halwa was prepared in five minutes.
Gram flour pakodas are a different matter
Just hearing the name of gram flour pakodas makes everyone’s mouth water. The taste of hot pakodas with tea is different.
The trick to making pakodas quickly is the same i.e. advance preparation. First see the recipe, then we will tell you the trick.
Method of preparation
- First of all we have to make the pakoda batter. For that, sieve the gram flour in a deep bottomed vessel.
- Then finely chop green chillies and green coriander leaves in it.
- Now add cumin, celery, red chili powder, turmeric and coriander powder to it.
- Add a pinch of baking soda and salt as per taste and mix well.
- Then prepare the gram flour batter by adding water little by little.
- Remember that the solution should not be too thin or too thick. Keep the consistency medium.
- Now filter the hot pakodas in oil and serve with green chutney and sauce.
- Gram flour batter cannot be stored in the refrigerator for more than one and a half days. Therefore, make preparations for making this on the same day when guests are scheduled to arrive.
- All you have to do is, as soon as the doorbell rings, you have to put oil in the pan on the gas.
- By the time the guests come and sit in the room, offer prayers and drink water, the round gram flour pakodas will have come out of the fridge and reached the hot oil.
- In the next five minutes they will be decorated in plates with sauces and chutneys. You will be smiling with pride and the guests will be thinking that you are a magician who can prepare pakodas in the blink of an eye.
Method of preparation
- First of all, mix semolina and curd well and keep it for half an hour.
- When the semolina swells with the curd, prepare a solution by adding garlic-ginger paste and salt to it.
- The solution should neither be thin nor very thick. Keep the consistency medium.
- Now apply oil on the bottom of a plate. Also put some water in a pan on the gas to boil.
- Mix sugar in the semolina solution and spread it in an oiled plate. Sprinkle some red chilli on top.
- Now place this plate over a pan of boiling water, cover it and cook for 15 minutes.
- Instant semolina dhokla is ready. Now cut it like barfi and serve.
- By now you must have understood how such elaborate recipes are being prepared within minutes and reaching the guests.
- The story of Suji Dhokla is also similar. You had already prepared the batter and kept it in the refrigerator.
- When guests came, just put it in a plate and put it on the gas in a pan with boiling water. As soon as the chatting started, the semolina dhokla was prepared in the plate and reached in front of the guests.
