Designer-actress Masaba Gupta has revealed that her mother Neena Gupta had to struggle a lot when she was pregnant. Masaba told that Neena had no one for moral support during her pregnancy. Also, there were financial problems.

In an interview to Faye D’souza, Masaba said, ‘When she (Neena Gupta) was pregnant, her mother was not with her. Her father was against it because her mother was not married then. My father Vivian Richards was also not with her. Her friends were around, but everyone had their own life.

She could not tell people that she was pregnant. That is why she had to hide her pregnancy. She did not even have money.

When I asked her how she dealt with all this, she simply said- I was happy to have my own child. However, I did not even know how I would raise you?

Children used to abuse me in school- Masaba Gupta

Masaaba also said that she faced discrimination in school. The children in school used to abuse her and also abuse her father.

In 1989, she gave birth to Masaba Gupta, whom she raised alone. Vivian was already married and he refused to leave his wife for Nina. In 2008, Nina married Vivek Mehra in a private ceremony.
