Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the facelift version of its best-selling sedan Dezire on November 11. The fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Dezire will be based on the company’s hatchback Maruti Swift platform, but its design will be completely different. The car will be offered with sunroof, 6 airbags as standard and many segment first features.
The sedan will be launched in the market in only 5 variants – LXI, VXI, VXI(O), ZXI, and ZXI+. Ex-showroom price of the updated model is expected to start from Rs 6.99 lakh. Currently, the price of Dezire starts at Rs 6.57 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor in the sedan segment.

Interior: Swift facelift and front-inspired design The new generation Dezire will get an all-new dashboard layout with a black and white dual-tone theme, which is inspired by the Swift facelift, Forex, Baleno and Brezza. It will get a new dashboard layout with a 9.0-inch floating infotainment system, sleek AC vents and HVAC controls at the bottom.
Apart from this, the car has wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology, more than 40 connected car features, wireless charger, semi-digital cluster with 4.2-inch MID, steering wheel mounted controls, automatic climate control, push-button start. Rear parking camera with sensors and much more will be available.
Performance: New Z-series petrol engine will be available The biggest change in the popular sedan will be in its powertrain. In place of the K12 four-cylinder petrol engine found in the current model, it will now get a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine from the Z-series, which comes in the new Swift. This engine generates power of 82hp and torque of 112Nm.
In comparison, the current model generates 90hp and 113Nm, which is 8hp and 1Nm less. The new Swift will have the option of 5-speed manual and automatic (AMT) gearbox with the engine for transmission.
