The new generation Maruti Suzuki Dezire will compete with Honda’s upcoming Amaze.
Maruti Suzuki has launched the new generation model of its best-selling sedan Dezire in India. It has been introduced in both petrol and CNG powertrain options. The company claims that the CNG version of the car will give a mileage of 33.73km/kg.
The special thing is that recently the car was crash tested in Global NCAP, where it got 5 star safety rating. It is the first car from the company to receive a 5-star safety rating from any crash test agency and is also the first 5-star rated sedan in the Indian market.
The fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Dezire is based on the company’s hatchback Maruti Swift platform, but its design is completely different. The car has been introduced with electric sunroof, 6 airbags as standard and many segment first features.
Price starts from Rs 6.79 lakh The sedan has been launched in the market in only 4 variants – LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+. The ex-showroom starting price of the updated model has been kept at Rs 6.79 lakh, which goes up to Rs 9.84 lakh in the top variant ZXI Petrol CNG. This price is valid only till the end of 2024.
Maruti Dezire can be availed on subscription basis, with installments starting from Rs 18,248 per month. This includes registration, maintenance, insurance and roadside assistance. It will compete with Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor in the sedan segment.
