The actress said that today’s new actors are moving away from the reality of the real world.
While talking to Indian Express, Sharmila Tagore said that today’s films are not like before. Along with this, he also expressed his concern over the increasing fees and expenses of today’s actors. The veteran actress says, ‘I am worried that today actors are not only charging huge fees, but many also take cooks, masseurs and their entire team with them.’
Taunt on young actors
She further says, ‘I was doing an ad film, and my make-up artist told me that nowadays actors also compete on the size of their vanity van. In our times, vanity vans were only for changing clothes and for privacy. Nowadays, the vanity has a meeting room, a separate room for rest and what not.
According to Sharmila Tagore, all these things are taking the actor away from what really matters – which is acting. She says, ‘I believe that earning money is very important, but in the midst of all these things, you get away from what is important. You don’t understand what will work for the audience and what won’t.
‘Today’s actors are jealous of each other’
The actress further says, ‘Today’s actors are very jealous. They are not each other’s friends. In our time, I remember when I received the award for Aradhana, Waheeda Rehman, Nargis were present in the audience. Nowadays things have become very bad, actors do not even talk to each other.

Talking about today’s young actors, Sharmila Tagore compared Shahrukh Khan with Shammi Kapoor. She says that Shammi Kapoor was a brand in itself. His energy was amazing. He used to do one thing in rehearsals and do something else in his takes. Among today’s stars, Shahrukh Khan does this.
