OnePlus is reportedly working on an artificial intelligence (AI) feature that will allow users to generate text summaries from voice recordings. The feature was spotted in the latest version of Oxygen OS, the company’s custom skin for Android. It is said to support multiple audio formats. The feature is not visible at the moment and those who have participated in the beta program will not be able to test it. OnePlus is said to be working on a sound recorder that uses the AI Summarizer feature that the company introduced earlier this year and OnePlus 12 And was spotted on OnePlus Open.

The code strings also provide some details about the alleged feature. For example, the AI Voice Recording Summarizer feature will support multiple audio file formats including MP3, AMR, AWC, AAC, and WAV, according to the “convert_error_format” string.

According to the strings discovered by the publication, the file size of the recording must be smaller than 500MB and the length of the recording must be less than five hours for the feature to work. The strings of code also indicate that there will be a limit on the number of summaries that users can generate at once. There will also be a daily limit. These criteria could mean that there will be a server-level limit for these features. There is also a good chance that the limit will depend on the paid membership level.

The publication also discovered code strings detailing the feature on Android 15 Developer Preview 2. These strings revealed the locations where it could launch first. According to the report, it mentions three languages - Chinese, Hindi, and English – which suggests that the AI Voice Recording Summarizer feature could first come to China, India, and the US.
