In an interview to Times of India, the actor has talked about his struggles. He says- ‘It has been very difficult. People see the success of the panchayat, but the truth is that even after 12 years of work, it is a struggle. For the last one and a half years, I have not received a call for audition from a big production house. I work with a small producer who recognizes my talent. The industry recognizes my work. But I still have to run after casting directors for auditions.
Even after ‘Highway’ and ‘Panchayat’, no major production house gave me the lead role. Everyone knows me, yet I have not received any big offer. I continue to audition and are also selected for some roles. But it is unexpected. ‘
Durgesh used to do theater before appearing in films. He has worked in more than 35 plays.
I did not get the credit that deserves
The actor said that his films and shows are praised and win the award. Even they get love from the audience. But they do not always get a better job. This is strange. My project receives the award but the critics rarely take my name. Despite working for 25 years in the industry, I did not get the credit I deserves. However, I am happy that the audience has appreciated my work.
