Mumbai. Karan Johar’s previous ‘Jigra’ flopped. Alia Bhatt was in the lead role in it. Alia also produced this film. Amidst the negative response to the film, Karan sold 50 percent of his Dharma Productions stake to Serum Institute CEO Adar Poonawala. It is being said that the last few mega budget films of Dharma Production have been flops. Whatever hits he had, he got negligible profit. However, fundamentally there was no confirmation like Adar and Karan.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar has shared a cryptic post on Instagram, in which he is talking about the competition. Karan did not comment or react on selling his stake, but this update has caught the attention of his fans. Karan wrote in the post, “Competition happens below only. “The people at the top cooperate.” That means only the people at the bottom compete. The people at the top work together.
Fans believe that this post hints at Adar Poonawala buying half the stake in Dharma Productions. Let us tell you that Adar Poonawala has bought 50 percent share of Dharma Productions last week. Adar has invested in the production company. After the news of the stake came out, Karan had said that Adar and he have been close friends. Together, both will take the legacy of Dharma Productions to new heights.
Karan Johar had said, “Right from its inception, Dharma Productions has told a heart-touching story, which reflects the Indian culture. “My father dreamed of making films that would leave a lasting impact, and I have dedicated my career to pursuing that vision.”
