In such a situation, the temperature may be 7-14 degrees Celsius lower than normal. The dangerous polar vortex is spreading down from the high Arctic, causing a cold storm. It is being said that this could be America’s coldest January since 2011.

Polar vortex is actually an extremely cold air rotating at a height of 24 to 48 km which usually remains above the North Pole. But sometimes it escapes from here. Then it spreads to the United States, Europe or Asia.
