The choreographer had decided to cast Vivaan Shah, son of Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, instead of the producer’s son.
Farah Khan had said in a previous interview to comedian-writer Zakir Khan, ‘You will not believe it, but at the time of Happy New Year, a producer had offered me Rs 10 crore to cast his son. Being the ‘Queen of Jhansi’ I said – I will never do this. I will not do injustice to the film. What if Shahrukh comes to know that I have taken Rs 10 crore to cast him in the film? Never, I will not do that. I cast Vivaan Shah because I felt he was the right person for the character and the film.
