Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert was held in Chandigarh on 14 December.
The administration has issued a show cause notice to the organizers of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Chandigarh. The administration filed a status report regarding this in the High Court on Wednesday. In which it was told that he had responded to the organizers regarding noise pollution.

According to the administration, during the concert held in Sector-34 on December 14, the sound level was found to exceed the prescribed limit. The sound was not supposed to go above 75 decibels (DB), but during the concert the sound reached 82 decibels. Now the hearing of this case will take place on January 9.
Senior advocate Amit Jhanjhi appeared on behalf of the Chandigarh administration and senior advocate Akshay Bhan appeared on behalf of the organizers of Diljit’s concert. Akshay Bhan told the High Court that he had tried his best. Organizers asked for some time to respond to this.

Administration said- 3 committees were formed In the report presented in the High Court by the administration, it was told that DC had formed 3 committees to investigate the noise level. The committees had taken readings of how much sound there was on the stage during the concert.
The committees had submitted the report to DC on Tuesday. The sound level during the event reached 82 decibels, which was more than the prescribed limit. Due to which the administration has issued a notice to the organizers.
There was a demand to cancel the concert The controversy started even before the concert took place. Ranjit Singh, resident of Sector-23, had demanded cancellation of the concert. He had filed a petition in the High Court saying that Diljit’s show would lead to a breakdown of the traffic system in the city. However, later the permission for the concert was granted.
Gave instructions not to sing Patiala Peg song Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights had instructed the concert organizers and Diljit not to sing songs related to alcohol and violence. These included songs like ‘Patiala Paig’, ‘Panj Tara (5 Tara)’ and ‘Kes’. Also, he was asked not to sing these songs in distorted form. Apart from this, a warning was given not to invite small children on the stage during the concert.
Diljit said in the concert – Infrastructure is not good, I will not do the show During the concert, Diljit had said that he will not hold any concert there until the government improves the infrastructure for the concert. On social media, this statement of Diljit started being linked with the infrastructure of entire India. Due to which he had to give clarification on his statement. He said that I talked only about Chandigarh, not about India.
