Question- What is the provision of penalty for traveling without ticket in any train?
answer- According to Section 138 of the Railway Act, 1989, traveling in any train without a ticket is a punishable offence. If a passenger travels without a ticket in Vande Bharat or any other train, he will have to pay a fine of at least Rs 500. Along with this, you will also have to pay the fare from where you started the journey and till where you have to go.
TTE will give you a receipt for the fine for this. According to railway rules, if you do not pay the fine, you can be jailed for up to 6 months.
Question- How much charge is deducted on cancellation of Vande Bharat train ticket?
answer- If you cancel Vande Bharat train ticket 48 hours before the train departure, a flat cancellation fee will be charged. This charge is Rs 60 for second class. Whereas for AC First Class/Executive Class ticket it is up to Rs 240. Understand it with the pointers below-
- If the passenger cancels the ticket 48 to 12 hours before the departure of the train, then a charge of 25% of the total fare is deducted. Apart from this, GST also has to be paid.
- If the ticket is canceled between 12 to 4 hours before the departure of the train, 50% of the fare will be charged with minimum cancellation fee.
- Railways gives some concessions in this train to the passengers whose tickets are RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) or waitlisted.
- If for any reason your ticket is canceled by the Railways, you get a full refund.
Question- What are the rules if someone travels with a waiting ticket in Vande Bharat?
answer- There is no waiting ticket facility in Vande Bharat train. However, if you travel without a ticket, TTE can charge you a heavy fine. Not only this, he can also deboard you at the next station with a fine.
