IRCTC will continue to act as the interface between ticket-booking passengers and CRIS, a senior official told ET. The work of creating the app is still going on.
It is noteworthy that till now people use different apps for different services of Railways. For example, IRCTC Rail Connect is used to buy tickets. IRCTC e-Catering Food on Track is used for tracking food and meals. Rail Madad service is taken for feedback, while unreserved tickets are booked through UTS app.
According to the report, all services will be available on a single platform on the Super App. People will get many services at one place. Among all the services, IRCTC’s Rail Connect is the most popular. It has received more than 100 million downloads. All reserved tickets are booked through this.
The ET report says IRCTC had earned a net profit of Rs 1111.26 crore and a revenue of Rs 4,270.18 crore in the financial year 2023-24. In terms of tickets, its platform made 453 million bookings, which gave IRCTC 30.33 percent of the revenue.
