The film Lootera, released in 2013, is counted among the best films of Ranveer Singh’s career. Recently, the film’s director Vikramaditya Motwane has told that Ranveer Singh’s passion for the film was such that in one scene he had to inflict real pain on himself to give real expression. However, the pain increased so much that the actor fainted on the set itself. In such a situation the shooting had to be cancelled.
Recently, in an interview given to casting director Mukesh Chhabra for Mashable India, director Vikramaditya Motwane talked about the hurdles faced in the shooting. He told that the set built in Dalhousie was destroyed due to snowfall. After this, when they changed the set and started shooting again, the shooting had to be stopped again due to Ranveer fainting.
Vikramaditya has said, we shot for two days in Dalhousie and Ranveer Singh hurt his back. He was hurt, but he said he was fine. The next day we were shooting the sequence in which he is taking out the bullet from his stomach. There is a scene inside the doctor’s office where he gets shot in the stomach, which he removes.
He further said, Ranveer Singh became completely obsessed in his mind. He thought that he had to take out the pill, he should feel pain. What should I put that will feel pain? I said, buddy, you should act, then he said no, you have to put something in. So he put the big black paper clips. He was going up and down the mountain, so that he could feel the pain. He came and he was sweating a lot.
He came in and we shot the entire scene. When she finally took out the clips, she was feeling complete pain right there. He didn’t even realize that his back was in pain. He became unconscious and was taken out. The next day he was evacuated from Dalhousie in a chopper, due to which the schedule was cancelled.
