It is easy to adopt bad habits in life, but it is very difficult to get rid of them. We don’t even realize when we develop bad habits. When they start affecting our personal life and relationships, then it becomes necessary to leave them.
Laziness is the enemy of man
Laziness is a big obstacle in our life. It hinders our progress and success. Due to laziness we are not able to achieve our goals. This can cause many harms, such as wastage of time, delay in goals, lack of self-confidence, lack of stability in life and many mental and physical health problems.
To give up it, adopt these methods-
- Learn to manage time, distribute work according to time.
- Don’t deviate from the goal. Think about where you see yourself in the coming years and how much hard work you will have to do to get there.
- Do regular exercise, this will help you overcome laziness.
- Say ‘NO’ to fast food and ultra processed food and get enough sleep.
control anger
When our work is not done well or someone does bad things to us, then we get very angry. Many times we get unnecessarily angry even at our own people. But it does not harm anyone else, only us. When a person is angry, he behaves badly with the people around him. This can spoil relationships.
In such a situation, whenever you get angry, you can adopt these methods-
- First of all, take a deep breath and instead of expressing anger, take a walk in the open air.
- When you get angry, leave that place and sit alone for some time in a quiet place.
- Before getting angry, stop for a moment and think calmly whether it is harming your health.
- If you feel very angry then you can also take help of meditation and yoga. With this you will see positive changes within yourself.
give up ego
If you are better and more successful than anyone else then be proud of it, not arrogant. Pride or ego arises from our mind, our thinking. To distance yourself from this, first of all stop comparing yourself with others. Ego comes into any person only when he starts considering himself superior to others. Follow these suggestions to give up ego-
- Don’t think that you know everything, rather think that there is still a need to learn more.
- Analyze your thoughts and actions and see if you have ego.
- Give credit to others for your achievements and accept your mistakes.
- Recognize the ego inside you and try to change it.
procrastination
‘Let’s leave it today, will do it tomorrow.’ Saying this, do you also postpone most of the work for the next day? If yes, then you will postpone many of your important tasks to tomorrow and will also get late in reaching your goal. The habit of postponing every task is called procrastination, which is called procrastination in English. This habit can make us lazy.
- Mahatma Gandhi has a statement – “Today’s efforts are the foundation of tomorrow’s success.”
- Therefore, prioritize your work and set deadlines.
- Set your goals clearly and work to achieve them.
One lie leads to 100 lies
For truth and honesty, we should give up lies because remember, to hide one lie, one has to tell 100 lies. This idiom emphasizes that lying is a bad and uncontrolled process, which starts from a small lie to big lies. Try to accept only what is true and present it to everyone.
greed is evil
It is absolutely right. Greed is indeed an evil evil, which can divert us from the true values and goals of our life. Due to greed, we can also harm our relationships, health and self-esteem.
Benefits of giving up greed-
- When we give up greed, we feel satisfaction in our life.
- By giving up greed, our mind remains calm and stable and our self-esteem increases.
Giving up bad habits will bring positive change.
Many times these habits affect our relationships as well as our lives. The more good habits you adopt, the more happily you will be able to live your life. This is very important to make yourself better and relationships stronger.
Our image depends on what we say and how we behave. When the image deteriorates, relationships with the people around begin to deteriorate. Mental stress increases. But to improve them, it is important to know about them first. And how to improve, mindfulness can help you with this.
So on the occasion of Navratri, resolve to give up these bad habits and make your life better.
