There is a big relief news for filmmaker Vasu Bhagnani. Mumbai’s Bandra Court has ordered Bandra Police to register an FIR against director Ali Abbas Zafar, co-producer Himanshu Mehra and others on charges of fraud and forgery. This matter is related to the 2024 film Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan.

On September 3, 2024, Vasu Bhagnani had accused Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Mehra in Bandra Police of fraud, forgery and swindling crores of rupees. He said that during the shooting of the film, fake documents were signed in his name. However, the police did not take any action. After this, Vasu had demanded the court to register an FIR.

The court said on December 2, 2024 that a huge amount of money is involved in this fraud and it is spread at many places. The court also said that the help of many agencies will have to be taken to collect evidence and there may be many documents involved. The allegations are serious and the case deserves cognizance and is non-bailable. After this, the court ordered Bandra Police to register an FIR under sections 120-B, 406, 420, 465, 468, 471, 500 and 506, r/w.34 of the IPC.

Now Vasu Bhagnani hopes that he will get justice soon, as the case will be disposed of soon under the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023. This case is again bringing the controversies of the film Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan to the fore.

For the past several months, there has been a legal dispute going on between Vashu Bhagnani and Ali Abbas Zafar regarding the film Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan. Vasu and Jackky Bhagnani accused Zafar of misappropriating the subsidy received from Abu Dhabi and hijacking the film. Apart from this, he also said that Zafar and his partners hatched a criminal conspiracy.

This complaint was filed by Vasu when Ali Abbas Zafar complained to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) about non-payment of Rs 7.30 crore, which he was supposed to get for the direction of the film.

Ali Abbas Zafar has not yet given any public statement on this controversy. FWICE members have asked him to give evidence. Pooja Entertainment rejected Zafar’s allegations, saying that the dues were calculated by set-off.

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are in the lead roles in the film. It was released in April 2024. However, the film received a disappointing response from the audience.

In July 2024, news came about the country’s famous filmmaker Vasu Bhagnani that he did not pay Rs 65 lakh to the crew members working in his film. For this the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had to intervene. He put pressure on Vasu, after which last month i.e. in August he paid the money to the crew members.
