Venezuela We know India as a poor country. Inflation was so high that a few years ago its currency became almost equal to the value of paper.
However, this South American country has done a very beautiful job despite struggling with lack of resources, inflation and poverty. That is to reduce deaths in road accidents by 50%. Citizens along with the government have played a big role in this.
At the same time, a country like India, despite all the resources, has completely failed in reducing the number of deaths due to road accidents. Question- What is Road Safety Week?
answer- Road Safety Week is an event in which the government, schools, colleges, traffic police and many NGOs come together to make people aware of road safety. Many workshops and street plays are organized in it.
In this, it is advised to spread awareness about traffic rules and include following the road rules in your daily habit.
Question- What are those rules of road safety, which people generally ignore?
answer- Safety on the road starts with following small rules. Pedestrians should use zebra crossing. Drivers must obey signals and speed limits. At the same time, it is very important to wear a helmet while riding a bike and wear a seat belt while driving a car.
Many times we think, ‘What difference does it make if you walk a short distance without a helmet?’ or ‘What is the need for a seatbelt when the car is moving slowly.’
This carelessness often turns into major accidents. Besides, tripping on bikes and overloading in big vehicles are also one of the major causes of accidents.
You can improve yourself after making mistakes in office or home. There is no scope for correcting mistakes on the road. Here life does not give you second chances. Most of the accidents occur due to lack of awareness, carelessness and bad habits. Let us understand this graphically.
Question- What is the main cause of road accidents?
answer- The main causes of road accidents are overspeeding, drink and driving, talking on mobile while driving, bad roads and potholes, carelessness while overtaking and poor vehicle maintenance.
Have you ever wondered when you are driving fast, will you have a chance to apply brakes at the right time? Or how long do you take your eyes off the road when you are busy with your mobile? Similarly, driving at high speed on a bad road can cause the vehicle to go out of control.
Question- Why is regular maintenance of the vehicle important?
answer- Periodic servicing and maintenance of the vehicle not only increases the lifespan of the vehicle but also ensures our safety.
Question- Does the government have any plan to help the injured?
answer- Many people die after road accidents due to lack of treatment. In such a situation, the government is coming up with a cashless treatment scheme, in which the government will bear the expenses of seven days’ treatment of the injured person. During this period, the government will bear a maximum of Rs 1.5 lakh for treatment.
