Mumbai. Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2025: Many actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Navya Naveli Nanda, Vikrant Massey, Samantha Ruth, Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi participated in the discussion regarding the increasing road accidents in India and safety while driving. News 18 has organized the Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2025 event for the third consecutive time. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari was the chief guest. These celebs including Nitin Gadkari talked about road safety and their experiences.
Amitabh Bachchan and Navya Naveli Nanda joined Nitin Gadkari in the first session of Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan 2025. Both of them narrated their experiences. Navya Naveli Nanda said that the young generation needs to be more careful and follow the rules. He said that people use mobile phones while driving. Many times road users also use mobile phones and do not pay attention to the oncoming vehicles. Due to this, the chances of increase in accidents remain high.
At the same time, Amitabh Bachchan talked about transportation and road safety during his younger days. He said that there was no speed at his time. Today’s generation has speed. There is no time. Those who have to go anywhere, go at speed. Whereas it was not so in his time. There was no hurry to go anywhere. There were not many cars. They used to have a lot of time, but today’s generation does not have time.
Apart from these, Vikrant Massey shared his experience regarding road and transport safety. He appealed to people to drive carefully and ride wearing seat belts and helmets. He also told that many of his close ones have died in road accidents. Vikrantan said, “Many of my close ones have died in road accidents. If treatment is received on time, life can be saved. In foreign countries, rules are followed because of fear. Laws should be strict to create fear among people.
Apart from these, Pankaj Tripathi said, “It is an honor to join hands once again with Amitabh Bachchan and Nitin Gadkari and the entire team of Road Safety Campaign. Road safety is an issue that forces all of us to think and I am proud to be a part of this initiative, which aims to provide safety to the lives of adults as well as children. I urge all citizens to embrace the change we need, because the future of our country depends on the safety of our children. Introducing safety measures in schools, Good Samaritan Law and emergencies are some of the important steps we can take to reduce accidents and save lives.”
