Salman was accused of hunting deer on the night of 27-28 September 1998 in Ghoda Farm House and Bhawad village of Jodhpur. In the Kankani village hunting case, the witnesses had told in the court that they had reached the spot after hearing the sound of the bullet. The hunt was done by Salman. Saif Ali, Neelam, Sonali and Tabu were also with him in the jeep. He was accused of provoking Salman. Seeing the villagers, Salman left the killed deer there and went away with the car. When the case reached the court, apart from film actor Salman Khan, names of Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali and Tabu also came up. All of them were shooting for the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hai’ at that time.

When the hearing of the case started in the court, eyewitness Chhogaram retracted his statement. He told the court that he had no recollection of the incident and hence he should be exempted from testifying in the blackbuck poaching case. After this the matter continued in the CJM court of Jodhpur.
How many times did Salman go to jail in this case?
After this, on October 12, 1998, Salman Khan was arrested for the first time in this case. After being in jail for five days, Salman was released from Jodhpur jail on bail on 17 October 1998. After this, on 17 February 2006, the CJM court found Salman guilty and sentenced him to 1 year imprisonment. However, the High Court had acquitted Salman Khan in this case. At the same time, on April 10, 2006, the CJM court had convicted Salman Khan in the second case and sentenced him to 5 years. After this, on April 5, 2018, Salman Khan was convicted in the black buck hunting case and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment and he was sent to Jodhpur Central Jail.

Whereas Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali, Tabu and Dushyant Singh were acquitted in this case. After this, on April 7, 2018, Salman Khan got bail on a bond of Rs 50 thousand and he was released on the same day.
