Salim Khan, born in 1935, is celebrating his 89th birthday today.

Today is the 89th birthday of famous Hindi cinema writer Salim Khan. Salim Khan, born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has always been in the news because of his personal and professional life relationships.

Today on the occasion of his birthday, let us know about 9 special relationships of Salim Khan…

Salim Khan was born on 24 November 1935.

Relationship- 1- The shadow of mother arose at the age of 9 and the shadow of father arose at the age of 14. Mother is most important for a child, but Salim was deprived of mother’s love at an early age. Actually, when Salim was 4 years old, his mother suffered from Tuberculosis (TB). For this reason Salim and his brother were asked to stay away from their mother.

While narrating an incident related to his mother, Salim had said in an interview to Nilesh Mishra – None of us could go to our mother. One day I was playing outside the house. She was sitting far away and looking at me. Then he asked the woman standing nearby – whose child is this? The woman told that I am her son.

He called me a little closer to him, looked at me and then sent me back. When I was 9 years old, she passed away.

Since mother was suffering from TB, father used to fulfill our every wish. Although I was very afraid of them. This was the reason why I decided that I would remain a friend to my children, so that they would not be afraid of me. When I turned 14, my father also passed away in 1950.

Rishta-2- Brother’s taunts inspired him to struggle in Mumbai After the demise of his parents, only his elder brother was left in Salim Khan’s life. In the beginning the elder brother took all his responsibilities. Salim’s father was a DIG rank police officer. After his death the elder son got this job. The elder brother took up this job and raised Salim. When he was in college, his brother got him a car, although in those days owning a car was a big deal.

However, when Salim got the offer to come to Mumbai and become a hero, the elder brother’s attitude completely changed. Actually, as soon as he got the film offer, Salim had made up his mind to go to Mumbai, but his brother said that he would return to Indore within some time. If you don’t come back then they will definitely demand money every month. Salim was very hurt by these words of his brother.

Salim Khan reached Mumbai, but he neither had any knowledge about that city nor about the industry. Due to this he had to face many setbacks. When he met director K. When he reached Amarnath, he got the role of side hero in the film Baaraat. He had already been given Rs 1,000 as signing amount. Apart from this, he was given Rs 400 every month. The film did not work and Salim Khan also did not get any special recognition. The money earned from the film also started running out.

Tired of the situation, he decided to leave Mumbai, but then he remembered his brother’s taunt. For this reason he thought it better to continue the struggle.

After the first film flopped, Salim was making a living by doing small roles in films. Then he started writing. This was the work that Salim used to do a lot in Indore.

Relationship-3- Salim was the messiah of friends in Indore, built many relationships by writing love letters. Salim used to write love letters to his friends in Indore. The handwriting and words were so good that it became the talk of every friend. In the series ‘Angry Young Man’, Salim had said – My friends used to get love letters written by me for their girlfriends. Until then I didn’t realize I could even write. When I came to Mumbai, my friends from Indore used to say that you ruined us and went to Mumbai.

Relationship-4- Relationship with Javed Akhtar broke due to a misunderstanding According to Deeptakirti Chaudhary’s book ‘Written by Salim-Javed’, Amitabh Bachchan became a star with the film Zanjeer written by Salim-Javed duo. When years later, the same pair asked Amitabh Bachchan to work in the film written by them, Mr. India, he flatly refused. Amitabh said- I am a hero, people come to see me, who will come to hear my voice.

Salim-Javed were extremely angry with Amitabh’s refusal. Javed Akhtar decided that he would no longer work with Amitabh Bachchan, although Salim Sahab was not happy with this decision.

A few days later, Javed Sahab reached the Holi party held at Amitabh Bachchan’s house and told him that Salim Khan never wanted to work with him. Due to this misunderstanding, the pair’s working relationship deteriorated and the two never worked together again. In 1982, their hit duo finally broke up. However, the friendship still remains intact.

The story of their friendship is also that in the beginning of his career, Javed did not want to marry Honey Irani. He wanted to focus completely on his career. In such a situation, he sent Salim to Honey’s house to end the relationship. When Salim reached Honey’s house following his friend’s advice, he spoke very ill of Javed. However, his efforts remained futile. In 1972, Javed Akhtar married Honey Irani.

Relationship-5- Salim was Sushila’s neighbor, after meeting for a few days they decided to get married. In his initial days in Mumbai, Salim Khan lived at his friend’s house in Marina Heights, Worli. Sushila Charak also lived in the neighbourhood. Salim was strong. No one could quickly defeat him in a claw-fight. Within no time, due to these habits, his popularity increased in the colony.

Due to this popularity, conversation started between Salim and Sushila. Both of them used to meet secretly, away from the eyes of the family. After a few days of meeting like this, Salim said to Sushila – I do not like our meeting like this. I want to meet your family and fix our relationship.

Sushila also agreed to his proposal and made arrangements to meet him with his family. When Salim reached Sushila’s house, he was frightened to see the entire family. However, somehow he started talking.

Sushila’s father liked Salim very much, but he was against inter-caste marriage. On this matter, Salim had said – There will be thousands of problems between us, but religion will never come in the way. Due to this, Sushila’s family agreed to the marriage.

Relationship- 6- Married for the second time to avoid defamation There was a time when actress and dancer Helen had no work. She was surrounded by financial problems. Then Salim Khan helped him. However, when the two were seen together, people called it an affair.

Salim did not want anyone to question Helen’s character. This was the reason why he decided to make Helen his second wife, but his decision created a lot of distance between Salim and his first wife. This incident was mentioned by Salim in an interview given to Nilesh Mishra.

At the same time, in an interview given to Zoom, Salim had said about this, ‘I did not take the decision of second marriage with Helen because I was upset with my first marriage or wanted to end that marriage. I did not take the decision to marry Helen suddenly. It took a long time. Helen liked me, but I had no such feelings for her.

I was the first to tell Salma that Helen is in my life. I did this because I did not want them to know about our relationship through any gossip magazine or anyone else.

Salim Khan further said, ‘When I told her, naturally she was not happy about this because it was not a good thing that I was going to do. Of course, we had problems after that. After some time everyone accepted this.

Salim Khan had praised Salma Khan in the interview and said that she had handled the entire situation in a better way and he would always be grateful to her for this.

Relationship- 7- Adopted a girl crying near her mother’s dead body on the roadside. Salim Khan has 5 children – three sons Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail and two daughters Arpita and Alvira.

Salim Khan’s second daughter Arpita Khan is not his real daughter. Actually, one day Salim had gone out for a morning walk. Just then a girl was crying beside her mother’s dead body on the roadside. Salim could not bear the pain of that girl and he took her home.

Salim and his second wife Helen had no children. In such a situation, he legally adopted the girl. This girl is none other than Arpita Khan, in whom Salman Khan’s soul resides.

Relationship- 8- Salim does not compare Salman with other children. Among all the children of Salim Khan, elder son Salman Khan is more successful. In his bonding with Salman, Salim Khan had said in the interview of The Invincibles Series – When I saw Salman’s first film, I was sure that one day he would become a great actor.

My only contribution in Salman’s career is that I have advised him from time to time to make the right choice. Although I have never tried to impose my opinion. I did the same thing with the other children also.

Salman Khan had narrated an anecdote related to his father Salim in The Kapil Sharma Show. He had said that there came a time when the financial condition of his family was very bad. Salim Khan did not even have enough money to pay Salman’s school fees.

One day when Salim reached his son’s school, he saw Salman standing outside the class with his hands raised. Seeing this condition of his son, he went straight to the principal. When asked the reason, the principal said – Your son’s fees have not been deposited, that is why he has been punished.

In response, Salim said- If the son’s fees are not deposited, then it is my fault. I should be punished.

After telling this to the principal, Salim went out and stood at the same place where his son was made to stand.

When Salman Khan was in jail, Salim could not even drink water. Salman Khan had to stay in jail for 18 days in the black buck case. Talking about this, Salim Khan had said – No parent can see their son in jail. When he was in jail, we could not even drink water. Sleeping in AC was also unacceptable, because there was neither AC nor fan in the jail. The water system was also bad.

These days Salman Khan is on the target of Lawrence Gang because of the black buck case. Some time ago Salim Khan had also received threats from Lawrence Gang.
