New Delhi : Salman Khan recently shared the experience of the journey of a scary aircraft. He said that once he was returning from Sri Lanka after the IIFA Awards and there were turbulance (shocks in aircraft) for 45 minutes in his flight. During this time all the passengers were nervous. Salman told that in the beginning everyone was laughing, but suddenly the aircraft started to shock. At first it looked normal, but later the voice intensified and there was silence in the entire aircraft. Salman and his brother Sohail were on the same flight and Salman saw that Sohail was sleeping. These shocks continued for 45 minutes. Salman looked at the air hostess who was praying and then he realized that it is a serious Ishu. The pilots were also nervous, while they usually remain calm. Salman said that he had only seen such a situation in films.

What is air turbulance?

Air turbulance is actually the result of unstable air, which shocks the aircraft. Many people think that it is only in bad weather or storm, but in reality it can happen even when the weather is clear and there is no danger in the sky.

Turbulance is usually caused by a jet stream (air currents) at high altitude. This happens when two streams of air flows at different speeds, and if there is a high difference in their speed, then the atmosphere is unable to handle its pressure and the wind streams are broken, causing a stir in the aircraft.

How normal is the air turbulance?

There are incidents of about 68,000 air turbulance every year, including both light and dangerous turbulances. Between 2009 and 2022, 163 people were seriously injured due to turbulance in the US, who had to stay in the hospital at least two days. During this time, the most danger is faced by the aircraft team, as they do not tie their seat belts.

Scientists have warned that the incidence of turbulance may increase due to climate change. Research found that in the last few decades, the incidents of turbulance in clean air have increased. This is due to atmospheric changes and carbon emissions due to the main main reason, which has changed the speed of air.

When is the turbulance more?

Turbulance incidence is more in the summer season, because the temperature of the earth starts rising. This happens when the air temperature changes and the aircraft collide with the streams that are flowing at different speeds.

Can turbulance be estimated?

In some cases, the turbulance can be estimated 18 hours in advance, but sometimes the sudden air stance changes, and it becomes difficult to predict. Modern aircraft contains sensors that already detect turbulance, which can warning pilots passengers or change the flight route.
