Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde starrer film Deva has been released. The film with action-thriller genre is 2 hours, 36 minutes. Dainik Bhaskar has given the film a 3 star rating.

What is the story of the film? When Dev (Shahid Kapoor) thunders, ‘Mumbai belongs to anyone’s father, the police’, this dialogue echoes in the heart of the audience. But does this echo remain in the entire film?

Dev Ambre (Shahid Kapoor) is a rebel police officer who is on a mission to avenge the murder of his fellow officer and friend Roshan Dicilva (Paval Gulati). In this journey, Dev has to face deep conspiracies inside his own police department.

Dev is about to reveal that he gets an accident. Then the twist comes in the story. Now whether Dev can reach the real culprit or not, the story of the film revolves around it.

The film has been released in theaters today i.e. 31 January.

How is the acting of Starcast? Shahid Kapoor has killed Dev in the role of Dev. Shahid has taken the entire film on his shoulders alone. He has tried to put Raw Intensity, Action with emotional ups and downs inside Dev.

Shahid has performed well to carry the burden of his father’s criminal past and to stand as an ‘Angry Young Man’. Pravesh Rana has also done justice to her role, while Pooja Hegde has received very little screen space which disappoints.

How is direction? Roshan Andrews has tried to create an intense thriller, but the story slows down in the first half. Although some action sequences seem to be fine, but the thrill of the film seems to be failing in the way the audience should be tied. The screenplay could be further tight. Due to heroism and cinematic liberty, the film sometimes looks away from reality.

How is the music of the film? Background could be music and powerful. At the beginning of the film, there is a song which seems right for party number.

See or not? If you are a fan of Shahid Kapoor and want to see an intense police background thriller, you can watch the film Deva. But slow speed and weak screenplay will have to be compromised.

Climax can definitely cause some interest. It is being said that this Malayalam film Mumbai Police is a remake, although nothing like this seems after watching the film. It is a fresh film.
