He married actress Shivangi Kolhapure, who was 12 years younger to him. Here we are going to tell you the love story of the parents of ‘Stree 2’ actress Shraddha Kapoor. Both of them first met on the sets of the film ‘Kismat’.
‘Kismat’, which came in the year 1980, changed the fate of Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kolhapur. This was Shivangi’s debut film. In this film, Shivangi played the role of Mithun Chakraborty, while Shakti Kapoor was in the negative role. Both of them became friends on the sets of this film. This friendship became so deep that both of them fell in love with each other.
Shakti and Shivangi loved each other, so Shakti immediately proposed Shivangi for marriage. Shivangi accepted this and asked her family to marry Shakti. But he was not happy with this marriage. He objected. When Shakti Kapoor also talked to him, he also refused.

Shivangi Kolhapure’s family had problems with Shakti Kapoor’s character with negative shades. Besides this, the age difference between Shakti and Shivangi was also 12 years. Shivangi Kolhapure showed courage and managed to run away from home. He married Shakti in the year 1982. When the marriage took place, Shakti was 30 years old and Shivangi was only 18 years old. Shakti had told in a chat with DD Urdu, “Seeing my villain image on screen, Shivangi’s family was not in support. But we went ahead with this marriage seeking God’s blessings.”
