He says that Shashi Kapoor felt bad about one thing he said, after which he complained about it to the film’s director Girish Karnad. Annu Kapoor praised Shashi Kapoor as an amazing producer, but also said that there were a lot of creative differences between the two during the shooting of the film ‘Utsav’. He says, ‘We all were playing cards in a lodge in Bharatpur. The main star cast of the film used to stay in good and fancy hotels.
The waiter had complained
He further says, ‘There were 6 of us in that room – I, Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Shekhar Suman and others. He had ordered tea and pakodas and when the waiter brought the tea, he asked to pay in cash. I jokingly told him that from next time onwards the production team will bear the expenses of our travel and he went and told this to Shashi Kapoor.
Annu Kapoor had to face the anger of the director
Annu Kapoor further told that when he was talking to Shashi Kapoor about this, the producer felt bad about something he said and he went and complained to the director. Shashi Kapoor had said that this small actor is fighting with me. However, Annu Kapoor presented his clarification before the director after which the matter was resolved.
