New Delhi. Bollywood’s ‘Dhak Dhak Girl’ Madhuri Dixit has ruled the hearts of the audience for a long time, but there was a time when the makers did not want to cast her in the film. Even in the corridors of Bollywood, Madhuri was infamous by the name of ‘Panauti’. Film makers believed that whatever film she was in would flop. Director Inder Kumar, who has worked with Madhuri Dixit in two films, revealed this.
Inder Kumar shared his experience of working with Madhuri Dixit in an interview given to Siddharth Kannan for his YouTube channel. He also told how everyone had warned him before casting ‘Dhak Dhak Girl’ in the film. Many veterans of the industry believed that Madhuri Dixit is ‘Panauti’.
Inder Kumar expressed confidence in Madhuri Dixit
The director says, ‘Everything was fine till I signed her with Aamir Khan in ‘Dil’. But when I signed Madhuri Dixit for ‘Beta’, everyone started saying, ‘Have you gone mad?’ At that time there was an interview in which Madhuri was being described as Panauti, but still I started shooting for ‘Dil’ and ‘Beta’ with her.
2 films changed the image
According to him, Madhuri Dixit’s ‘poor, flop’ image had changed after the release of ‘Tezaab’. The success of this film made him an overnight star. After the success of ‘Tezaab’, the actress’s film ‘Ram Lakhan’ was released in December 1988, which became her second biggest hit. Inder Kumar says that Madhuri had become a superstar within 6 months, but there was no change in her. She is the most down to earth actress even today.
