New Delhi: The legendary singer emerged as the leading singer of Hindi cinema in the 90s. She sang 2,486 songs in about 1,114 films. She was born on 20 March 1966 in a middle-class Gujarati family living in Kolkata, but she fell in love with a big businessman from Shillong, whom she met for the first time in a train.
