We are talking about Mithun Chakraborty, who shot his latest film despite injury.

Mithun Chakraborty expressed happiness on winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and in an exclusive conversation with News18 told about his film journey. The actor told that during the days of struggle, when he did not have money for food, he had requested a journalist to feed him. He said, ‘I don’t have words to thank everyone. I feel like I can neither laugh nor cry. I still remember how I once slept on the footpath of Mumbai. I had to fight for everything. Today when I am being given this honour, I still cannot believe it.

When Mithun Chakraborty won his first National Award
Dedicating his award to his family and fans, Mithun said, ‘I started from the streets, where I spent countless nights. Initially I worked in C-grade films and then started working in B-grade films. When I received my first National Award, a journalist approached me for an interview. I told them I was hungry, I didn’t have money to buy food. He was so kind that he gave me something to eat. Today I get four meals. I have seen many ups and downs in my life, but my passion and struggle for art is my weapon. Let us tell you that he won the first National Award for his debut film ‘Mrigaya’.

Faced rejection due to ‘dark appearance’
Today Mithun da is not only an actor but also a politician. He is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party, but he always kept acting away from politics. At the beginning of his career, he faced a lot of rejection due to his dark appearance, due to which he also suffered from inferiority complex.
