New Delhi. Popular singer of Hindi film industry Udi Narayan participated in the Amrit Ratna Award ceremony of News 18 India. During this, he remembered his days of struggle. Udit Narayan told that he was fond of singing since childhood. He also used to sing songs in fairs. After this he worked in Kathmandu Radio Station. Then he reached Mumbai to earn name in the world of singing.
Udit Narayan told that he has been working in the world of Bollywood and music for 45 years. He said, ‘I have been living in a small village in Supaul. I have also sung in fairs. I started living at my sister’s house. My sister helped me a lot and I used to earn a little money by singing songs in fairs. I also studied matriculation while staying there.

Singer further said, ‘After this I sang a song in a minister’s house. He liked my song very much. He gave me Rs 100 and asked me to go to Kathmandu. After traveling for three days, I reached the radio station in Kathmandu. I got a job there at a salary of Rs 100. I used to sing songs there.
Udit Narayan reached Mumbai
Udit Narayan further told that he also used to perform in the Indian Embassy, from where he got a scholarship to learn music. After this reached Mumbai. There he took music training. His struggle continued for many years in Mumbai. Along with learning music, he used to visit studios to get a chance to sing in a film. Music composer Rajesh Roshan gave him his first break.
Famous film brought good luck
Even after getting the break, Udit Narayan’s struggle continued. In many films, only two or four lines were available to sing. After this, he got Aamir Khan’s film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ and his luck shone. He sang songs like ‘Aye Mere Humfasar’ and ‘Akele Hain To Kya Gham Hai’, which became superhits. After this Udit Narayan never looked back.
