She is going to celebrate Thanksgiving on ISS. Thanksgiving is celebrated every year in America on the fourth Thursday of November, which is a day of gratitude for blessings and harvest. Sunita is ready to celebrate Thanksgiving in space with ‘smoked turkey, mashed potatoes’.

Sunita is on ISS since June

NASA and Boeing launched the Starliner spacecraft in June. That was Boeing’s first manned mission. Two astronauts – Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore – boarded the spacecraft and reached the ISS. However, after reaching the ISS, the Starliner started having problems and Sunita and Butch had to stay there.

NASA has told that Sunita and Butch will now return to Earth with the Crew-9 mission. This mission has reached the ISS and may return to Earth in February or March next year. This means that Sunita and Butch will return to Earth only by February or March 2025.
