Tata Motors has introduced the Ultra EV 7M electric bus at its launch event ‘Pravas 4.0’. The Tata Ultra EV 7M has a seating capacity of 21 passengers and the company says that it has been designed to run on crowded city roads and narrow lanes.
Apart from the Ultra EV 7M, Tata Motors also introduced a range of commercial passenger vehicles across different segments. These include the Tata Magna EV, Tata Magic Bi-Fuel, Tata Ultra Prime CNG, Tata Winger 9S, Tata Cityride Prime and Tata LPO 1822.
The e-bus will be fully charged in 2.5 hours
Tata Ultra EV 7M electric bus has a 213kW electric motor for performance. A 200kWh Li-ion battery will be available to power the electric motor. This battery is IP67-rated. The company claims that the bus will run 160KM on a single full charge. The bus supports fast charging, so it can be fully charged in just 2.5 hours.
Safety features like EBS and ESC
Talking about the features, the Ultra EV 7M includes Electronic Braking System (EBS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Regenerative Braking technology. Apart from this, an automatic passenger counter and an advanced Intelligent Transport System (ITS) have also been provided in the electric bus for better monitoring.
More than 2900 Tata electric buses are running in India
Tata Motors has operated more than 2,900 electric buses across India, which have run more than 16 crore kilometers. Tata Motors is also a pioneer in hydrogen fuel cell technology in the country. The company’s Fleet Edge platform uses smart technology to enhance fleet management, vehicle uptime and safety.
