‘That is my weakness…’, when Jaya Bachchan was shocked to hear about Aishwarya Rai, she wanted to slap the actor hard on the face

New Delhi. There are often news about the relationship between Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship between the two is well known. Jaya Bachchan has mentioned in her old interviews that Aishwarya will remain her daughter-in-law, she cannot become her daughter. People say that this distance exists between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law because of the presence of daughter Shweta. But, there were many such occasions when Jaya Bachchan stood as a shield for her daughter-in-law.

Aishwarya Rai is one of those beauties of Bollywood, who is known for her beauty as well as her acting skills. From Bollywood to South, he has also worked in Hollywood films. But do you know that many projects were snatched from Aishwarya’s hands and later those films proved to be superhits. The surprising thing is that all these films were with Shahrukh Khan.

Aishwarya was the first choice for ‘Chalte Chalte’ and ‘Veer Zara’
After working together in films like ‘Josh’, ‘Mohabbatein’, ‘Devdas’, what happened between the two that they have not worked together for years. In the early 2000s, their professional and personal relationships turned sour. There were many speculations about this but both of them kept distance from each other. Aishwarya herself had once revealed that she was dropped from at least five projects with Shahrukh. Which also included superhit films like ‘Chalte Chalte’ and ‘Veer Zara’.

Jaya wanted to slap hard
The actress’s mother-in-law, Jaya Bachchan, had once talked about the tension between Aishwarya Rai and Shahrukh. She had expressed so much displeasure with King Khan that she even said that she wanted to slap him hard. Actually, during that time Jaya had expressed her displeasure over some comments made by Shahrukh on Aishwarya.

When Jaya said- ‘Yes, I am angry with Shahrukh’
In an interview given to People magazine in 2008, when Jaya was asked whether she was still angry with Shahrukh, she replied in strong words. He said- ‘Of course, I am.’ She said, ‘I have not yet got a chance to talk to him about this and I will talk to him about it. If he had been at my house, I would have slapped him, just like I would have slapped my son. But I have a different connection with him. He further said, ‘Shahrukh is my weakness.’

Shahrukh was not among Aishwarya and Abhishek
Shahrukh Khan has a very good relationship with the Bachchan family, especially Jaya. Despite these strong relationships, King Khan did not attend the wedding of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan in 2007. The reason behind this was the dispute on the sets of ‘Chalte Chalte’, after which he and Aishwarya were not on talking terms.

‘I want to give freedom and space to my family’
Jaya had also commented on the question of Shahrukh not attending son Abhishek Bachchan’s wedding, she had said, ‘Was Aishwarya going to invite him to the wedding? I want to tell you very honestly, if we could have invited him for the wedding, we would have changed the wedding date. I want to give freedom and space to my family. Although Shahrukh later apologized to Aish, but the two have not been together till now.
