Govinda’s comedy-drama film ‘Rangeela Raja’ was released in the year 2019. Unfortunately this proved to be his last film. Since then he is staying away from the silver screen. Govinda played a double role in ‘Rangeela Raja’. The film was directed by Sikandar Bharti. Whereas, the producer was Pahlaj Nihalani. Govinda and Pahlaj Nihalani were sure that the film would be a hit as soon as it was released, but the whole thing went wrong at the box office.

The film could not do business of even Rs 1 crore
Govinda was seen in a double role in the film ‘Rangeela Raja’. He played the role of womanizer business tycoon Raja Vijendra Pratap Singh. At the same time, he was also seen in the role of Yogi Ajay Pratap Singh, but the audience did not like the film at all. Even the film could not earn even Rs 1 crore at the box office.
Box office collection was reduced to lakhs
Rs 19 crores were spent in making Govinda’s film ‘Rangeela Raja’, but leave alone earning after its release, the film could not even recover its cost at the box office. According to Bollywood Hungama, the film’s account at the box office was opened with just Rs 5 lakh and the lifetime collection was only Rs 19 lakh. Since the failure of ‘Rangeela Raja’, not a single film of Govinda has been released in theatres.
