But on the recommendation of director Mehboob Khan, he met director Rameshwar Sharma who was working on the film ‘Bhakt Kabir’ at that time. But after this, all his films proved to be flops and Bhushan went into debt and became dependent on every penny. Bharat Bhushan lost everything he had earned. His bungalows were sold, his cars were sold and people had seen him standing in the bus queue many times.

During the shooting of the film, Bharat Bhushan started liking Madhubala and also wanted to marry her, but Madhubala married Kishore Kumar. Their one-sided love remained incomplete.
