The year was 2006 and the movie was “Phir Hera Pheri”, Manoj Joshi played the role of a garbage merchant in this movie. His comic timing and dialogues were so great that the audience accepted him wholeheartedly and he got a new identity. After this, he played important roles in many movies including Golmaal, Chup Chup Ke, Bhagam Bhag, Vivaah, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Guru, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Mere Baap Pehle Aap.
