DoT India has amended the Flight and Maritime Connectivity Rules, 2018. The new rule allows Wi-Fi to be made available in-flight as soon as the use of electronic devices is permitted on board the aircraft, regardless of altitude. A sub-rule states that aircraft in Indian airspace can provide internet access to passengers through Wi-Fi at a minimum altitude of 3,000 metres.
