Police investigation has revealed that 19 days ago also, comedian Mushtaq Khan was kidnapped and money was collected in the name of the event. Police teams are also working on this angle.
The incident was carried out at Rangrut Dhaba. Sunil Pal told that he reached Darbhanga in Bihar by flight on December 1 at 7.30. There his show was held at Madhubani Mahotsav from 8 pm to 10 pm. After that, rested for the night at Hotel Jalsa in Madhubani. Talked on call to Anil, who organized the Haridwar event on 2nd December at 8.30 pm. After that took a flight from Bihar and reached Delhi. From the parking there itself, Anil sent the Innova in which we left for Haridwar. Meanwhile Anil’s call came. He sent a photo of Rangroot Dhaba located in Kankarkheda on WhatsApp and asked him to stay. After some time many people came in Scorpio and Swift. After getting down from the car, a young man said, I am your fan. After that, he was introduced to two people sitting in the car and made them sit inside.
The police team worked out throughout the day
On Monday, 10 police teams scanned the CCTV footage from the highway to Begumpul. Investigation revealed that both the criminals who bought jewelery from Radhe Shyam Jewelers and Akash Ganga Jewelers were the same. He remained in Begumpul and Lalkurti area for 6 hours. Apart from this, he also wanted to buy jewelery from a third jeweller’s place but due to lack of gold coins there, he again reached Akash Ganga showroom.
Jewelers presented their side and said – We sold jewelery like a normal customer.
Kidnappers collected ransom money in filmy style after kidnapping Sunil Pal. He had deposited the ransom money into the accounts of two renowned jewelers of Meerut. Police investigation has revealed that the kidnappers had transferred Rs 2.30 lakh to the account of Radhe Shyam Jewelers and Rs 4.15 lakh to the account of Akash Ganga Jewellers. Later the kidnappers bought jewelery from the same jewellers’ shops. After this, Sunil Pal was released on the night of 3 December. On Monday, Vijay Aggarwal of Bullion Association reached the showroom of Anand Radhe Shyam Jewellers. Here jeweler Akshit Jain told that he sold jewelery like a normal customer. He didn’t know who the customer was. Jewelery was sold as per rules on fixed bills.

According to comedian Sunil Pal, he was invited to an event in Haridwar on the night of 2 December. Sunil Pal reached Delhi from Mumbai by flight. Sunil Pal was kidnapped between Delhi and Meerut. Kidnappers brought Sunil Pal to Meerut. He was blindfolded and kept in Meerut. A ransom of Rs 8 lakh was demanded by calling friends. The entire ransom amount was collected online. After this, the miscreants bought jewelery worth Rs 4 lakh from Akash Ganga Jewelers in Begumpul and jewelery worth Rs 2.25 lakh from Akshit Singhal’s shop in Jawahar Quarter. Bills were made in the name of Sunil Paul at both the places. A copy of Sunil Pal’s Aadhar card and PAN card was also given.
The money was transferred online from Sunil Pal’s mobile to the jewellers’ accounts. After committing the crime, the miscreants fled leaving Sunil Pal on the road.
According to Sunil Pal, 16 days ago a young man named Anil called and introduced himself as the director of the event company. He asked Sunil to come to an event in Haridwar. For this, some amount was also transferred to Sunil Pal.
When Sunil reached Delhi on 2nd December, the event company sent a car to take him to Haridwar. When he stopped at a dhaba on the way, three youths approached him posing as his fans. A young man told them that he had bought a new car. He took Sunil to his car and asked him to see the car from inside. As soon as Sunil sat in the car, the accused took him hostage.
If you make even the slightest noise, I will kill you with poison.
Sunil Pal said, ‘The miscreants told me that you have been kidnapped. If you make any noise, you will be killed. The miscreants had tied a cloth over my face. After driving for an hour, the scoundrel took me to a house. Here on the second floor they took me hostage.
A miscreant was holding an injection in his hand. He was saying that it contains poison. If you make even the slightest noise, I will kill you with poison. I asked the miscreants what they wanted, then they asked to give Rs 20 lakh.
If not 20 then give 10 lakhs…
‘I told him that I don’t have that much money. The miscreants said- We know that you are a great comedian, how would you be short of so much money. If not 20 then give 10 lakhs. Then when asked about the ATM card, I said that I do not keep the card.
The miscreants called the wife and asked for money. On this I told him – do not call home. Those people will get upset. I ask for money by talking to friends.

Sunil Pal further said- On December 3, the miscreants asked for Rs 8 lakh ransom online. After getting the money, the miscreants gave me Rs 20,000 for a flight ticket. After this they left me in Lalkurti police station area.
Case opened after account was seized
Here, as soon as Sunil Pal reached Mumbai, the police there interrogated him. He told the whole thing. After this, Mumbai Police seized those two accounts from which Kindapper had asked for money.
On December 5, jewelers businessman Akshit Singhal reached Axis Bank to deposit money. The bank manager told him that his account has been frozen on the complaint of Maharashtra Police. No transactions can be made from your account. Only then the whole matter came to light.
Deposit money through online transaction in 4 times
Akshit told during interrogation – I have a firm named New Radhe Lal Ram Avtaar Saraf in Jawahar Quarter. On December 3, at 12 o’clock, two youths came to the shop. He asked to show the gold chain and coins.
The youth gave Rs 10,000 and said that you should pack both the coins and the chain. We will deposit the remaining money into your account online. Then without taking the chain or coins, both of them left with the account number of the firm.
A transaction of Rs 50 thousand was made in the firm’s account at 1:35 pm. Then 80 thousand rupees came into the account at 2:12 pm, 50 thousand rupees at 2:18 pm and 50 thousand rupees came into the account at 4:17 pm. A total payment of Rs 2 lakh 30 thousand was made. After this the young man called and informed about the transfer of money.
Took 2 gold coins and chain
Akshit further said- After this sent screen shots of the transaction on WhatsApp. Both the youths reached the shop at 6 pm. He liked 2 gold coins of 10 grams each, a chain of 7.240 grams. The bill for all three was Rs 2,25,500. The young man gave Aadhar card and PAN card and got the bill made in the name of Sunil Pal.
They took away the remaining Rs 4500 from the money paid online. I got a call on my mobile at around 8:17 in the night. The caller introduced himself as an officer of Mumbai Police Santacruz Police Station. He said that the amount transferred to your account is in the form of ransom money.
I told him the whole story of purchasing the jewellery. On this the caller asked to give the transaction ID and numbers of both the youths. I gave this information to Lalkurti police station in-charge. The station in-charge told me not to share anything. Nowadays such fraud is going on. When the account was seized the whole matter came to light. Similarly, these two miscreants bought jewelery worth Rs 4 lakh 15 thousand from Akash Ganga Jewellers. Its payment was also done by using Sunil Pal’s Aadhar card and PAN.
