Actor Govinda’s wife Sunita has told that producers used to exploit Govinda. There were no fees for work. But Govinda did not say anything to those people. However, Sunita spoke against it and also gave Govinda his rights.
Sunita told in an interview given to Hotterfly – I used to look after Govinda’s work. Being a manager, I have seen that people did not give him money and Govinda used to say – let it go, his show might not have been done well. On this I used to say – Why so? You danced! Isn’t it? You worked hard! He’s fooling you, I can tell.
‘Producers used to take advantage of Govinda’s goodness’
Sunita told that Govinda is very emotional. They trusted others easily. Producers used to take advantage of his goodness. They used to make excuses for not making the payment on time.
They used to say – Chichi Bhaiya, the tickets were not sold. I will give you Rs 20-25 lakh later. But Sunita did not like it at all.
Sunita told that when she saw wrong happening with Govinda, she did not keep quiet. She definitely asked questions about this to the producers. Because of his simple attitude, people in the industry did not like him. Regarding this he said- Even if they had abused me, it would not have made any difference to me. I would stand in front of him and take his (Govinda) rights. I would tell Govinda to do his work and dance and leave the rest to me.
