New Delhi: Rajesh Khanna was the first Bollywood superstar, who has given so many great films in Hindi cinema. The actor died in 2012 at the age of 69. Recently, there has been a shocking revelation in a channel. Yes, in an interview given to YouTube channel of Avanti Films, her alleged girlfriend Anita Advani gave heartbreaking information about the final year of the actor, stating how he had melted physically and emotionally.

Talking about his deteriorating health, Anita said, ‘He used to cry all day. It seemed that he was calling his death himself. He himself was also embracing death and calling him. He admitted that she often used to talk to him about his negative attitude, so that his morale could be boosted. According to Anita, a dream of Rajesh Khanna was incomplete. He wanted to convert his prestigious bungalow, blessings into a museum in his memory. Anita said, ‘When he was unwell, she had received a proposal of Rs 150 crore for the house, but she refused. He said, ‘I want to convert it into a museum which will stand for 100 years.’ However, after his death, the house was demolished.

Recalling that moment, Anita said, ‘When the house was demolished, I also died with her.’ Anita also reminded Khanna’s relationship with her family during the final year. In a 2013 interview with Rediff, he mentioned that his wife, Dimple Kapadia and daughters, Twinkle and Rinke started to meet him regularly. He used to spend a few hours with him. If I was out, they would call to ask when I would come back so that they could go. I was happy that they came back to his life. Khanna’s ex girlfriend Anju Mahendru also used to come to meet him sometimes. Anita said, ‘We had very good relations. The doctors had already warned him that Khanna’s health was falling rapidly. Anita said sadly, he had become very weak, was having hallucinations and often struggled to understand things.

Known as India’s first superstar, Rajesh Khanna finished the highest position with a unique series of 15 consecutive solo hit films in the 1960s and 1970s – a record that is still intact today. Born on December 29, 1942, Khanna made his debut with the last letter (1966) and soon won the hearts of people with brilliant performances in films like Aradhana, Anand, Kati Kite and Amar Prem. His charismatic screen appearance, unique dialogue payment and soulful emotions made him a cultural symbol.

Beyond acting, Rajesh Khanna stepped into politics and served as a Member of Parliament in the 1990s. He received several awards including three Filmfare Best Actor Award and prestigious Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award.
