Abhay Deol is known for his out-of-the-box films. He has created a distinct identity among the audience with films like ‘Ayesha’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. The actor talked about his film career and family in his recent interview. In this interview, he also expressed his opinion on the women of the Deol family staying away from films.
In an interview given to Filmfare, Abhay Deol told that the women in his family were not allowed to work in films. She could work, but could not work in films. Abhay Deol says, ‘My father and uncle came from the village and they wanted to preserve their values. Coming from a small village, this world of dazzling films was completely different for him.
Abhay Deol was stubborn since childhood
He further says that in his childhood he was never allowed to meet Bollywood friends. He did not even go to film parties. Talking about adjusting to the situation at home, Abhay Deol said that he was very stubborn since childhood. He says that if you ask Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol about him, they will also say that he (Abhay) is very talkative since childhood.
The family had objections to Abhay’s films
Abhay Deol told that his brothers Bobby and Sunny Deol were very worried about his choice of films. He liked his debut film very much, but after that Manorama Six Feet Under, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local. His family did not like these films. He was very worried about Abhay’s future.
