New Delhi. Manoj Bajpayee has created his own identity among the audience with films and series like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Family Man’. He has established himself as a great actor with each of his characters. There has been a similarity in every character of Manoj Bajpayee that he has never looked like a typical Bollywood hero. Recently, the actor has broken his silence on not looking like a ‘RICH GUY’ in films. Talking about this, Manoj Bajpayee has taken a dig at Bollywood directors.
Manoj Bajpayee told that during his decades-long career in Hindi films, he played the role of a Maharaj only once, and that was in the film ‘Zubeida’. About this film of Shyam Benegal, he says, ‘It was Shyam Benegal’s thinking that real Maharajs do not look like Greek Gods. They were all like ordinary people.’
He also mentioned his memorable role in Yash Chopra’s film Veer Zaara. He says that even though his role in the film was very small, he played the role of a politician in it. He says that both those filmmakers had a strong thinking, which came from knowing life very closely. Talking about being stereotyped in films, he says, ‘Apart from these two, no director could think of me in a rich role. This is a stereotype in the industry.’
