New Delhi : Vivek Oberoi, who has had a brilliant film career, had once rejected the role of a villain in Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Om Shanti Om’. Vivek recently revealed about this decision in an interview and told what was the reason behind it. Although today he is away from the film industry for some time, he has made a wealth of Rs 3400 crore in the field of real estate.
Vivek Oberoi got the offer for the role of Mukesh Mehra in Farah Khan’s film ‘Om Shanti Om’. But Vivek already had a big role in ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, for which he had already given dates. This was the reason why he had to reject the offer of ‘Om Shanti Om’.
Why was the character of Shootout at Lokhandwala important?
Vivek told that he already had the script prepared for ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’. He was playing the role of a gangster named ‘Maya Dolas’ in this film and he had started researching for this role for several months. Vivek was completely prepared for this role and his mind was more focused on this role than the character of ‘Om Shanti Om’.
Vivek’s deep connection with his character
Vivek told that he had met the police, read the crime files and had completely thought about the role. He said, ‘I had started preparing for this role 4-5 months ago, so it was very difficult to suddenly change gears and prepare myself for another role.’
Vivek also said that if there were no date problems, he could have said yes to both the films. But due to the situation he had to reject the offer of ‘Om Shanti Om’.
Vivek Oberoi’s career and future
Vivek Oberoi has not only performed brilliantly in films, but has now made his mark in the business world as well. This decision taken by him shows that sometimes it is good to think about some other decisions along with the film industry.
