Mumbai. Chunky Pandey started his career in the 1980s and became a lead hero by the 90s. But in later years, he got less lead roles. He started playing character roles but later these also stopped coming. Then he turned to Bangladesh. Worked in films there and also became a superstar there. Along with working in Bangladesh industry, he also did many other jobs including property dealer and real estate business. Chunky has made many revelations about his career and work in Bangladesh.
Chunky Pandey talks about working in Bangladesh in a chat with daughter Ananya Pandey for ‘We Are Yuva’. He told Ananya that after the beginning of the 90s, his career started ending. He said, “I really had no work. The only film I got was ‘Teesra Kaun’, and after that the work stopped completely.”
Chunky Pandey said, “So I went to Bangladesh and did films there. Luckily she was successful and I made it my home for 4-5 years. But yes, it was scary. But actually I didn’t stop working. I opened an event company. Then I started doing events. “I started dealing in land and buying property.”
Chunky Pandey further said, “Imagine that I am trying to do something by going door to door. I just put my ego aside and I said I need to survive and so I did all this but I learned a lot in that process.” Ananya asked him whether his parents helped him?
Chunky Pandey said that he cannot take money from his parents. He said, “If you are a guy and you have started your career, now you cannot go back to them and say I want money.” However, Chunky also clarified that his parents did not know about his financial condition.
