Japanese automobile companies Toyota and Suzuki are preparing to launch a compact electric vehicle (EV) in the international market next year. These two companies have signed an agreement for partnership in technology and models. This crossover could be an EV.

Toyota plans to expand its EV portfolio. The company’s Bz can be brought in the affordable segment. With this, Bz can get a large number of customers. The company’s e-TNGA platform can be important for this. Toyota is also developing a new SUV. It will be below the company’s Fortuner in terms of price.

The range of Bz can be more than 300 kilometers on full charge. Its length can be 3,700 mm, width 1,700 mm and height 1,530 mm. This EV can compete with Tata Motors’ Punch EV and Hyundai’s upcoming Inster. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) had recorded record wholesales in the last financial year in the country. Its sales had increased by 48 percent to about 2.65 lakh units. In the previous financial year it was around 1.77 lakh units.

Toyota’s portfolio in India ranges from Glanza to Fortuner Legender. The company has strengthened its position in the MPV and SUV segments. The company has made a place in the price category of less than Rs 20 lakh with the mid-size SUV, Urban Cruiser Hyrider. TKM has planned to set up its third plant in the country in Karnataka. With this, the production capacity of the company can increase by one lakh units. An investment of about Rs 3,300 crore can be made in this plant to be built in Bidadi, Karnataka. This plant of the company will provide employment to about 2,000 people. The company plans to increase its production in the country. Toyota has two plants in the country with a capacity of about 3.42 lakh units per year. The company’s sales have increased in the last few years.
