The surprising thing is that 60% of these are victims of senior citizens, while 20% are more than 55 years of age.
Nowadays, scams and blackmailing cases are increasing on online dating apps, due to which people are falling victim to depression and are taking steps like suicide.
In Madhya Pradesh alone, 8 people have committed suicide for fear of slander by getting caught in the trap of online dating app.

Scammers start chatting with the first person and gradually connect to them emotionally. Once he wins the trust of a person, he demands money by making an excuse for an emergency. Apart from this, they also adopt some other tactics to cheat people. Such as-
- Complaints related to the dating app in Indore saw that some girls used to take them to the youth and senior citizens in their trap the same time in the pub or restaurant where they had collusion with the operator. Later, she manipulated the bill, or blackmailed her by making her photo or video.
- Scammers talk by changing the voice with the help of Advance Technology like AI generative and Deepfech on calls after online chatting. This voice is so accurate that it is difficult to distinguish between AI and real voice. After this, they take the person in their bluff and make him a victim of cheating.
- Apart from this, scammers make deepfack nude video calls to trap the person on social media or dating app. They record the screen during the call. Later blackmail the video by threatening to make the video viral and demands money.
