answer- Banda’s Regional Transport Officer Saurabh Kumar says that some rules have been made for vehicles under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. According to these rules, writing anything on the back or number plate of a car, bike or any vehicle is a violation of the rules. If these rules are ignored, fine action can be taken.
Question- What kind of things should not be written on the vehicle?
answer- According to traffic rules, whether the vehicle is government or private, there should not be any kind of sticker on it. Also, the name of any department or post should not be written. Apart from this, putting any kind of obscene sticker on the vehicle is a violation of the rules. Understand this from the graphic below-
Question: How much fine can be imposed for writing anything on the vehicle?
answer- According to Section 192 of the Motor Vehicle Act, a challan of up to Rs 5000 can be issued for pasting words, stickers or pictures related to caste or religion on vehicles or if the number plate is not in accordance with the guidelines. If the driver does this again, he may have to face imprisonment of up to 1 year and a fine of up to Rs 10,000.

answer- Yes! Some vehicles have been exempted for this. For example, if a government officer is on duty in a vehicle, then words like government, administration can be written on it. However, if the vehicle is not on duty and these words are written at that time, then it can also be challaned.
District Magistrate, Senior Administrative Officer, Doctors, Ambulance, Fire Brigade can also display the posts only when the officers are on duty.
