Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra has recently talked about the worst phase of life. He has told that his first feature film Sajaye Maut did not perform very well. Because of this he became disappointed. He had even decided to commit suicide. But for the sake of his family he had taken his steps back.
‘I was one step away from death, but the love of my family stopped me’
In a conversation with NDTV, Vidhu Vinod said- Many people do not believe this, but many years ago I had to commit suicide. I was disappointed. I was standing on the Lonavala Highway, looking at the moving trucks. I was one step away from my death. But the love of my family stopped me.
Was disappointed with the failure of the film
Vidhu Vinod further told that this incident happened just after the release of the film Sajae Maut Ki. Released in 1981, the film was an adaptation of the FTII Diploma film Murder at Monkey Hill, starring Naseeruddin Shah. This film did not perform well at the box office.
Vidhu said – Happiness is not in the result but in the fight.
Regarding this he said – Now people who know me are surprised that I had even thought of something like this or had gone through this phase. But it is important to say that it is okay. You weren’t born this way. You fight your battles. In some you win, in some you lose. Happiness is not in the result but in the fight.
