Vodafone Idea’s 5G network will be available to both prepaid and postpaid customers. For trials, the telecom company has deployed its 5G service on 3.3GHz and 26GHz (mmWave) spectrum. As per previous reports, Vodafone Idea was expected to launch 5G service by March 2025, starting with Delhi and Mumbai. However, there is still time for commercial launch. This move will prove important for Vi, as the telecom company is finally entering 5G. Vodafone Idea has launched 3.3GHz and 26GHz mmWave spectrum bands in all cities except Bihar (where there is only 3.3GHz spectrum). Telecom operator users in other cities can enjoy better connectivity and faster internet in the coming months.
A Vodafone Idea spokesperson confirmed that “We have successfully rolled out 5G service as per the MRO guidelines. We have upcoming plans for a broader launch to all users and will share more details in due course.”
