How did the name Naira Banerjee come from Madhurima?

My name is not Madhurima, I am tired of saying this. See, Madhurima was my South screen name. My actual debut in South was with the serial ‘Kadambari’ show with Sanskrit film ‘Adi Shankaracharya’-fame writer-director G.V.Iyer. He gave me the name of the character Madhurima in the show ‘Kadambari’ saying that it is a very sweet name. Because of him this screen name was used. She was in college at that time.

At present, I had asked the site people to get it corrected, but it was not done. ‘Temper’ was my last film with Jr NTR in Telugu. After that he did not do any film in Telugu. I also dropped it because my article was published in the name of Madhurima Tuli and her photos were published on my article. Well, I have only one name and that is, Naira M. Banerjee.

Tell us about the character Neelam played in ‘Checkmate’?

‘Checkmate’ is a very different kind of show, where the emotional mental journey of a lady is seen. Every person wants to forget the past and start a new phase in his life. My character’s name is Neelam. Neelam has been very brutal. His past has been very scary and different, due to which he tried to completely improve and change his life. She takes care of her husband’s food and family. She has all the qualities of a proper Indian woman, but there comes a turn when the person whom she wants to forget comes in front of her.

How was it challenging to bring the character of Neelam to life?

I already know that the more the challenge, the better it is for me. The more challenging the work is, the better the results come out. I knew he was coming to me, then he would make me cum and take everything out. I always choose difficult things, this is one of my habits.

You are crying bitterly in one scene. Where did she get that reference point from?

He took the reference point from his father’s death. She cried a lot. When Papa left, I felt like my whole world had ended. The same thing happens in the scene of ‘Checkmate’ that my husband wants to kill me. I don’t know myself. Well, I took this reference from my real life, because at that time I felt that what should I do now, I am alone.

Tell us any interesting incident during the shooting of ‘Checkmate’?

I was in a lot of pain during the shooting of ‘Checkmate’. I was getting my egg frozen. I was getting injections. My whole body was swollen. My emotions were going up and down because hormones were changing. She used to reduce swelling by applying ice pads on the body. There was so much pain that I was not able to sit up. But even in that condition the running sequence was done.

The production house provided great support in this. Used to bring my doctor. Used to get injections from time to time. Used to leave on time for my checkups. He arranged a lot. I was in a lot of physical pain. Apart from this, I also became emotional because my hormones had gone up and down.

Is there any special purpose behind getting the eggs frozen?

Because I am not married yet. Mom is worried about when she will get married. When will you have children? Right now career is going well. Money comes only from career. Our food and drinks are being supplied from there. For marriage, you need a good person in your life, who understands you. As long as you are independent, it is important to secure yourself, your finances, your eggs, your family. It is important to have security in everything, so I got the device frozen.

Then what are your thoughts regarding marriage?

Have to get married. You have to marry only someone who is a good person. Meaning of a good person who understands each other. Who wants to live a life together, not if you get married then you see this, I will see this. Not like that. Husband and wife have equal relationship. The child has an equal role in eating, drinking and running the house. Only then can a female and a male energy come together and do a lot. Although I can have children without marriage, but I want a husband, I want children, I want everything normally.

Unique people go to ‘Bigg Boss’. What do you find unique about yourself?

I call myself a wolf, because I can see inside people. I say something only when there is a lot of evidence, a lot of observation and analysis. She didn’t fight in ‘Bigg Boss’ for two weeks or attack people rudely over things, that’s why she came out. I have a lot of things to say. I have a lot of things to say, to which people have no reverse answer.

Unfortunately, I was nominated and got eliminated. This is my uniqueness, where I can read people slowly. People could not see that thing. I handle things very intelligently. I try and do things in a very unique way, because my thinking and the way I live life is quite different from others.

You have a very positive mindset. Tell this mantra to the youth also, who become depressed when there are some ups and downs in their lives.

Look, every person is special in his own place. Every person is unique. Even though they come from the same transcendent consciousness. But your life journey, your face, nature, behaviour, upbringing, your parents, everything is different. Then why are you complementing each other? You have to complete with yourself how you can do better.
