New Delhi. Famous action director Sham Kaushal recently shared his experience of working with megastar Amitabh Bachchan. He talked about Big B’s unwavering dedication, humility and kindness during the shooting. Sham Kaushal told that Amitabh Bachchan had refused to take a break during the shooting of the TV show ‘Yudh’. To keep the team in good spirits, he ordered a sandwich and ate it with soil-stained hands on the set.
In an interview given to Friday Talkies, Sham Kaushal said, ‘I worked as a stuntman in Mard in 1984. At that time I was a trainee stuntman. Then after that I got a chance to work with him (Amitabh Bachchan) in the TV show Yudh. I got a call from his director and he asked me to shoot an action scene. I told him that I was busy with another projector. After this he gave the phone to Amitabh ji.
Amitabh Bachchan was ready to change the dates
After this Amitabh Bachchan talked to Kaushal in the evening. The action director told, he said that if you do not come then I will change the dates. I will take action only when you give me your dates. I thought that such a big legend told me that he is ready to change the dates for me. He has such passion for his work. We are all very small in front of his passion.
Had eaten sandwich with hands soiled with mud
Sham Kaushal further said, ‘We were shooting the war at Ghatkopar during the rainy season. There was an under construction building. The same evening, Amitabh ji had to go to London for the shooting of Shamitabh. Then he had to shoot the promo of Kaun Banega Crorepati at night. It rained so much that Amitabh ji reached at 11 o’clock. The fight scene is being shot in dust. There is mud on his body. Went at 3 o’clock and then I told him that sir, there is a break of half an hour, you should come after having food. He said, no sir, I eat food every day but I get such work only occasionally. Then he ordered sandwiches from his staff and started eating them with clay hands.
The gathering was looted in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’
Talking about work front, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. He worked with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the movie. Kamal Haasan was also a part of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. In this film, Amitabh Bachchan dominated by playing the character of Ashwatthama. After release, the movie did tremendous business at the box office. The film had collected more than Rs 1000 crore worldwide.
