New Delhi: A heart-wrenching scene was shown in ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’, in which Abhishek Bachchan’s character tells Maya (Rani Mukerji) about the death of Amitabh Bachchan’s character. This scene makes you cry, but did you know that Abhishek Bachchan cried a lot after the scene was shot? Abhishek had revealed in an interview that he could not control his emotions after shooting this scene and then Karan Johar consoled him, but he also started crying with him. Even Rani Mukerji started crying with him without any reason.

In an interview given to ‘Look Who’s Talking With Niranjan’ in the year 2014, Abhishek had said, ‘Karan came and talked to me (about the scene). Karan is the worst actor in the world, yet he works very hard in whatever he does. Despite this, Karan manages to tell what he is expecting from the actor. I remember he came to me and said, ‘Abby, don’t do this scene. Just say it straight. I was thinking as an actor that I have to say that he is dead. When I saw, it was my father’s photo. It affected me.’

Abhishek further said, ‘I looked for a moment and thought and said this is my father. How can I say that he is dead. He is waiting for me in the hotel. As soon as I said the dialogue, Karan said – cut, I got the shot. I got up again and went to the side and started crying loudly. I remember Karan came to me. He hugged me because he knew me. He started crying again. I realized that he was thinking about Yash uncle and he had written this scene for Yash uncle and I was playing it for my father. Rani came and she did not know why we were crying, but she also started crying. That was a supernatural feeling. ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ was the third film of Abhishek and Amitabh together. They had earlier shared the screen in ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ and ‘Sarkar’. The father-son were seen in a different avatar in the film. Their acting was highly praised. It has been 18 years since the release of the film.
